A Legacy
Worth
Preserving.

In honor of the creative effort put towards this most eclectic group of artists by impresario David Ferguson, his longtime friend and business associate John Brower has undertaken to lead the way forward.

Our purpose is singular: to give the many Artists who contributed to the CD Presents catalogue the opportunity to see their works again showcased — and to acquire their masters should they have an interest in pursuing other avenues of distribution and promotion.

David Ferguson's contribution to independent music in San Francisco was not simply that of a label head. He was a discoverer, a connector, a believer — someone who continued to break new ground and create opportunities for so many artists who might otherwise never have found their audience.

A Box Set Tribute to David and CD Presents would be a fitting bookend to his important life in the San Francisco eras. We look forward to working with you to see many of these great tracks returned to the cultural milieu where they belong.

We hope you will join us in this effort.

Announcement
Exclusive Catalogue Representation Formally Established
John Brower formally assumes exclusive representational responsibilities for the CD Presents Music Catalogue, opening discussions with distributors, streaming platforms, and archival institutions.

Johnny Brower has been a seminal figure in the Canadian music scene since 1964 when his high school band "The Diplomats" was amongst bands that reigned supreme on the Toronto music circuit.

Johnny was the first person to bring major rock artists to Canada on a weekly basis at "The Rockpile" in Toronto. A late 60's venue, it was modeled after The Fillmore in San Francisco. Throughout 1968 and /69 it presented artists weekly including; The Who, Led Zeppelin, Jeff Beck, and Rod Stewart on their first tours of North America.

Johnny produced Canada's first rock festivals, including 1969's "The Toronto Rock and Roll Revival" (where John Lennon made his break from The Beatles), "The Strawberry Fields Festival" 1970, considered the Woodstock of Canada and "Heatwave" 1980, the landmark turning point in New Wave music that ushered in the 80's.

Today he is writing and producing films based on his experiences in the world of Rock and Roll and lives in Toronto with his two dogs, Charlie and Guru.
